Skeletons and Hall Closets

As I have been packing these past few weeks I have consciously been avoiding the "hall closet" otherwise known as- where everything goes that doesn't have a place.- The reasons behind this deliberate avoidance are the sheer volume, and second, all my "special stuff" is in there. I don't know about you but I can't objectively organize "special stuff" without becoming a complete basket case. So I carefully open up the first folder and it is filled with bridal photos from my 1st wedding! Which I might add was a complete write off given the fact that he hightailed it after 4 days! Next folder, all of my favourite correspondance from my grampa who passed away a week after Rylie was born. PAUSE. This folder took a long time to go through,I was about to put it in the box when I pulled out one last letter to read;

Dear Chelsea It is with the greatest of sorrow and contrite hearts that Grandma & I have learned of the fatal accident of your dearly beloved husband CJ on the I15 in Utah, U.S.A. of last March. All the more so because we know that he was not a hanger on, jerk, meat head or dip stick and so the sorrow must be that much more intense. However let us take solace in the fact that this great Mexican American Caruso passed away with being associated with one of the greatest granddaughters I have ever met and possibly will ever be associated with in my life time. I am so sorry that it took us so long to respond to your great loss, however Grandma & I feel that the Christmas season would be the best time to express our deep sorrow. As what has happened is private but was made public by the newspapers in Utah, you have my permission to make known to the Entwistles the final tragic consequences of driving too quickly on a congested highway, the fatal mistake you husband made in order to return to you as soon as possible. Again our condolenses and grief stricken hugs and kisses. Grandpa
Not only did this letter allow me to bust out laughing it closed the door on the first folder. Thank you grampa. It also reminded me of where I get my unusual sense of humor from, because CJ was never killed, he is alive and well, my grampa just felt like being funny! Now enters the third folder, for my own good I was hoping for some old phone bills but that would be too easy, instead it was all the lovely letters Lee had written me over the years. So with my inherited sense of humor in mind, I put them in a nice manila envelope and set them by the door. When his mum dropped the kids off later that day, I handed them to her and said " as I was packing I came across some of Lee's things, if you wouldn't mind giving them to him, I would really appreciate it!" It felt good. With all this emotional turmoil taking place in the span of only 3 hours I decided that I would open only one more folder and... Hurray!!! it contained only one thing, my favourite quote;

"I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship." Louisa May Alcott

I read this quote more than I brush my teeth and for the first time, I saw how it was connected to my name Chelsea. Chelsea means port of ships and landing place, now my favourite quote has become my most favouritest quote. It also made me wonder the meanings of my childrens names. So my personal project over the next few days will be to learn of my kids names! I leave you with the eloquent words of Rascal Flats;
"And if one door opens to another door closed
I hope you keep on walkin’ ‘til you find the window"

Current Events

Well I previously had said that weekly Ty would be filling you in on up to date sea creature info and obviously that has not happened. The main reason for the delay is ME of course, finding time is main issue at hand. It has in no way been a lack of info on Ty's part. I kid you not when I say that he engages himself in a monologue from the time he wakes up until the time he goes to bed regarding sea creatures. Today he apparently felt that he could more properly express his knowledge by being naked while enlightening us all.

I being the one who has to read the scientific journals, am becoming quite versed on the subject myself. He has taken quite a keen liking to sharks and rays. As I write this he is in the midst of a discourse with himself; " the common thresher shark is the most common finding himself in all the oceans of the earth, the pelagic thresher shark is not so common. And now the big eye thresher shark, he is purple and metallic blue on top their bodies are covered in derma denticals" -for those of you who don' know what derma denticals are I will enlighten you, they are like scales just rougher and smaller. "derma denticals are not scales, fish have scales and whales and all types of seals have blubber (deep breath) lets now talk about the oceanic whitetip shark"to be continued...

As I leave you in suspense about the Oceanic Whitetip Shark I will let you know that Ty and I are off to the Pacific Biological Station on Saturday to meet some Marine Biologists! I am really looking forward to just one on one with him. Not of course forgetting my personal delight in seeing cute Marine Biologists.I also am indebted to my dear friend Tammy who will watch the other three rugrats so I can go.

Rylie, now she is a character, I have thought for a year now that she has been loosing her voice, but apparently the raspiness is uniquely all hers. She also is becoming versed in the ocean language of Ty because she follows him every where he goes. Her little obsession right now is singing and dancing and all things PINK. While I was in the shower this morning she was singing her version of Monkeys on the Bed;
" 1 little monkey jumpin, jumped off the bed and bonked his head, head bonk bonk bonkNo I not said the momma, momma fell off and bonked her head. Doctor bonked his head, I not I called the doctor, nana fell off and called mom."
I must say I think there is a composer in my midst, a composer who also dabbels in the world of cosmetics, mainly MY cosmetics. Rylie is also my little assistant following me, keeping me up to date on everything Ty is up to that she does not approve of and helping with the babies. It is so cute, she can tell their cries apart from across the house, I love seeing her interact with the twins. I will keep you posted on what activity Rylie chooses for our one on one date. I will venture to say it will most likely involve sha-ko-lat (chocolate) milk!

Oliver, wow does he ever look like Ty! He is such a patient little guy, so content and growing so fast everyday. I am proud to announce Oliver has consistently been producing solid poops! And last night he slept from 8pm until 4am!! Haleluia there is a God. I was beginning to think the no sleep was going to last forever.

Olivia, a total girl. She is so much daintier than Oliver and quite high maintenace and the ripe age of 10 weeks! She loves to be held, and talked to, Olivia like her older brother-by 2 minutes- also is producing solid poops! She has improved dramatically in the sleeping department as well, not quite as long as Oli but she is improving.

Chelsea, Moi, and Me, well I am lots of things. At the present I am doing well. Surprisingly the kids are in no way stressing me out. They are my joys and I am trying my hardest to eliminate all other stressers in order to handle to bundle of kids. I really know that by eliminating all unnecessary junk is the only way for me to cope. Some "junk" however is ongoing and has to be dealt with, like lawyer and court stuff, hopefully it will all be over soon. Now that is not to say that at numerous times during the day I feel like pulling my hair out and screaming into a pillow- which totally works- I just know and continually remind myself that this too shall pass. Soon Ty will be a famous Marine Biologist, Rylie a Composer and Cosmetic Entrepreneur, Oliver a Doctor and Olivia a Psychologist and they will take care of me! Either way I have been blessed with four of the dearest little souls and I want to enjoy every moment, because soon I have to go back to work and will not have as much time with them as I want. Anyway enough about us, heres till next time. My camera was acting up and I couldn't get pics of hte twins, next time though.

Broadway comes to Nanaimo

As I take a step back this evening to look at what is going on in my home I realize we are the perfect bunch to star in Anni! Not only do my children resemble orphans, they have taken quite a liking to the bohemian- street urchin look. I must admit that I too look somewhat homeless-however I will spare you those photos- It has probably come as no surprise that I will be starring as Miss Hannigan! So it is not a chaotic nut house today, we are simply rehearsing for our big roles. This is what I tell myself anyway, I have also decided that tomorrow after lunch we will be rehearsing The Sound of Music, more importantly the scenes where the children all love each other and song and dance are more prevalent then throwing and hitting! I am also embarking on a road trip to Idaho with all my orphans! So be prepared my next post will be full of potato adventures! If you are interested in some light reading check out my link to the Alta blog, I am the spotlight this month!

Roll Back

As I begin the night shift I am contemplating my day tomorrow and what needs to be prepared tonight in order to make tomorrow smoother. I look to my left and see the Walmart flyer, it suddenly dawns on me Roll Back Prices!! With their always low prices and now even lower- if you can believe it- tomorrow is the perfect day to go pick up some patience and endurace!! Today was a rough one and I seriously need more of the above. I truely wish patience was as simple as buying milk but to my dismay it is not. I have never been the most patient person and I am seriously finding the little patience I do have dwindling away, taking with it my endurance. I know all I need is a little sleep but sadly that too cannot be purchased in aisle 12 or accomplished at my house right now. You'll have to excuse this pity party I am throwing myself, I tried to talk about it with Oliver and Olivia but they seem to be more interested in the living room light! I do feel better now, blogging has really helped me vent a bit and use adult vocabulary. I am going to focus my prayers on patience and trust that my Heavenly Father has some on his shelf, and for some temporary solice I will go to Walmart and purchase a Fruit and Nut Bar and eat the whole thing like no one is watching!!!!

Hugs and

Kisses and

I am so very greatful for my sunshines! Everyday I feel more blessed to be given the opportunity to be their mum. I love you guys.

TY: Rylie you can come have a vitamin

RYLIE: No I not, only one a day

TY: It's a new day, it's tuesday

RYLIE: No I not, it's dangerous, only one a day, maybe next Wednesday

TY: Rylie it's a new day today, don't be silly!

RYLIE: I'm gunna tell mum Ty, ONLY ONE A DAY!!

The above conversation took place this morning in Ty and Rylie's room while I was outside the door eavesdroping! I thought it was too cute to pass up. It also hit me that the tattle telling has officially begun.

Sunday Best

Saturday is a special day, it's the day we get ready for sunday! The word 'special' jumps out at me, i feel that 'CRAZY' should be substituted! Our church is at 1 pm and today being Conference, we had to be there at 9am. Four hours is a HUGE difference when we you have to dress, kiss, feed,hug,give timeouts,kiss,do hair,give more timeouts, pack 2 reverent bags and 2 diaper bags for FOUR people. Then as I am walking out the front door I realize I am still in my pajamas! In order to remember that it is possible to get us out the door in 1 hour (a very stressful hour I might add) I took photos! I would also like to pat myself on the back because I being a computer ding dong figured out all on my own how to install the hardware-I mean software-and upload my photos! PAT PAT You'll have to excuse the dorky picture placements I am still trying to figure out how to do it all!

Hammerhead Facts

Ty will share with you what he has learned this week about the Hammehead Shark:
"Hammerheads are very very shy. There are nine types,ya, the shovel head and smooth are my favourites. They scool because they are particularly small and need to scare off predators."
